How to find a course near you

Use the postcode
You will normally get the best results by entering your postcode - either the whole postcode or just the first half. For instance, you could either enter the whole postcode LS13 2JB, or just enter LS13, and click on search.

If you do not know your postcode or the postcode of the area in which you wish to attend a course you can search for the town name by using the advanced search. This is not as reliable as the postcode search as courses are sometimes listed under the nearest town rather than the names of local villages.

The advanced search also enables you to specify the day of the week of the courses that will be displayed, as well as the WEA branch and tutor if you know which you are looking for.

Refining by subject
You can refine your search by typing a subject into the keyword field. This searches both the specific course title and the more general subject, so a search for 'Art' would return any courses in the 'Arts, Media and Publishing' subject area as well as ones with 'Art' in the actual course title.

If you can't immediately find a course to suit you
. Contact your local WEA Region who can advise you about other local courses and opportunities with the WEA.
. Select the 'What Next?' option in the bottom-right of this page and use the links to find courses with other education providers in your local area.

Why are some WEA courses not listed?
Please note that around half of our courses are run in partnership with local community organisations and trade unions. Not all of these will be listed in our online course search as they may run at short notice and some of them may also not be appropriate for the general public or those not already involved with the partner organisation concerned.

Scotland , Wales and Northern Ireland
Scotland is part of the WEA National Association, but its courses are not included in this course search. Visit the WEA Scotland website at www.weascotland.org.uk for further information on the WEA in Scotland .

There are WEA organisations in Wales and Northern Ireland , but they are separate from the WEA National Association. Their websites are listed below:

Northern Ireland : www.wea-ni.com
South Wales : www.swales.wea.org.uk
Coleg Harlech WEA ( North Wales ): www.harlech.ac.uk

If you have any questions or feedback on our course search, including how you would prefer to search for courses, please let us know by emailing webteam@wea.org.uk . Your feedback will help us to improve our online course information.

The WEA is committed to Equality and Diversity.
